Hi Everyone,

The usb cable connecting the tough book to the akula 9000 processing unit from Geoscanners have been damaged and now when I do a survey it says error in connection. Is it possible to repair it? Becuase Im al the way in Africa, Namibia and the manufacturer is in Sweden. The order and al the processes is to much and wil be to expensive, and will take to long.

Also the cable of the anthenna is to short when I try to scan the inside walls of a trench. Is it posible to put the heads of the cable on a longer cable? And if it is, would the longer cable have any effect on the data or on the time the data is received by the processing unit? I'm thinking atleast a 3 to 5 meter cable.

Best regards
Etienne

Hi Etienne,
You can use any USB 2.0 compatible cable to connect to your radar. I'd suggest you get the 1 - 1.5 m long ones.
The antenna cable is a special cable custom made for these units, when buying the unit a choice is given to select
between 0.6 and 6 meters cable. If no choice is made then a 0.6 meters cable is delivered as standard.
A longer cable will not affect the quality of the data or the way it is processed. I strongly discourage trying to fix
the cable yourself though, it might damage the unit and void your warranty. If you need a longer cable the best
to do is to order one from us. Send me an e-mail if you need pricing and delivery time, but it should not take that
long.
Regards,
