HI
I recently heard about a new -affordable- system made in Russia : OKO-2 from geotech . The system is sold less than 20.000$ with a 400 mhz shielded antenna and a survey wheel . That is very cheap compared to other manufacturers like GSSI or S&S and It looks rugged .

Has anyone ever heard about this system ?
Thank you

Hi Detect,
There are other systems in the market below the 20000USD price tag with the mentioned specifications
http://www.geotechru.com/en/market/geop ... trol_unit/
, for instance:
1. U-Explorer, http://www.geoscanners.com/uexplr.htm
2. Cobra GPR, http://www.radarteam.se/products/cobra_gpr
3. Easy Locator, http://www.malags.se/Solutions/Products ... ystem.aspx
4. Detector Duo, http://www.idscompany.it/page.php?f=212&id_div=4
5. Zond 12E, http://www.radsys.lv/
And others, but I'm not familiar with them or know the prices. So, as you can see the market is not limited to GSSI or S&S as
one might think. Another complete different story is if you are from Canada or US, some of the above mentioned systems including
the one you mentioned are not FCC certified and therefore illegal in Canada and US.
The OKO systems have been around for a while and they have heavy contracts with the military in Russia, so I'd assume they are
good otherwise the fellows with the guns and fat wallets would have chosen something else. Perhaps not, what do I know?
I have seen data from these systems and actually tried out the software, the software was not very impressive, but not awfully bad
neither. The data that I have seen has been always processed and to my opinion looked very good. But, I haven't tried them out
by myself, perhaps some other people here can comment on this? It would be nice for the manufacturer to post his comments too,
then we all can learn more about this system.
Regards,

they probably are, we saw some systems in the last GPR conference (2012) in Shanghai and they seemed well built.
I liked very much their automobile odometer DPA. Their technical specifications are realistic and the data looked
very nice. The only thing I didn't actually liked was the antenna separation for the UHF antennas, but it seems
to work for them. In general a very good impression and they seemed very serious and correct about what they do.
Best regards,
